Message from our new County Commissioner
Dear Scouters of Humberside.
As your new County Commissioner, I would firstly like to thank you all for the kind words and messages of support that I have received since my appointment was announced. Many of you will know me as DC for the City of Hull District or maybe as a member of the Scout Communication Team and I look forward to meeting many more of you.
I have a great passion for Scouting and making it better and more available for our young people is what I would like to see us do. I know I can’t do it alone though, it has to be with a great team and I look forward to working together to achieve what we set out to do.
At my interview, one of the things I talked about was getting feedback and listening to the views of others. In the very near future, I will be asking for YOUR feedback and views on Scouting in Humberside and would welcome your thoughts on what YOU think we should be doing going forward.
I am really excited about my new role and am looking for volunteers to join the team and help us make Humberside a great success. I will be sending out more information about how you can be involved in the development of Humberside Scouts very soon.
Most importantly though, I would like to say a big thank you to each and every one of you, for your commitment and contribution to Scouting, whatever the role that you do – Scouting could not exist without you.
I know that at times scouting can have its challenges, but please try and look beyond that and continue providing a great experience for both our young people and adult volunteers alike.
I look forward to meeting you all in the near future. In the meantime, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Yours in Scouting
Gary
