DofE Gold

Duke of Edinburgh Gold

By achieving your DofE Gold Award, you've shown extended commitment to volunteering, developing a skill and improving your fitness, developing resilience and teamwork, especially in the expedition and residential element! Within Scouting, the DofE Gold links directly to the King's Scout Award so it's great to enrol to both awards, it's effectively a 'two for one' offering!

How to earn your award:

You must be 16+ to enrol in the DofE Gold Award Programme

For each of the 3 sections (see below in the timescales) you must complete a minimum of an hour a week per section. There are endless possibilities as to what you can do for each section, but you may choose to volunteer in the Beaver Colony in your Scout group each week, develop your fitness by going cycling every week, and learn how to play a new instrument, but its totally up to you! Along with this, you also complete a residential and an expedition.

Timescales:

Volunteering: 12 Months

Physical and Skills: One for 12 Months, One for 6 Months

Expedition: 4 Days & 3 Night

Residential: Undertake a shared activity in a residential setting away from home for 5 days and 4 nights.
