Trustee Board Selection Process

In line with POR, we’re holding an open selection process for our district trustee board. We’re inviting nominations, and we’re looking for people who want to make a real difference to Scouting in North Lincolnshire.

Our Trustee Board helps guide the work of the District, making sure we’re running safely, sustainably, and with the future in mind. From shaping strategy to supporting volunteers, the board plays a crucial role behind the scenes.

This year, we’re aiming to build a team that’s not just supportive, but active — people who are ready to contribute, offer ideas, ask questions, and get stuck in. We meet around 6–8 times a year and welcome nominations from both current volunteers and individuals with useful skills from outside Scouting.
We’re especially looking for:

• Volunteers who care about the future of Scouting
• People who can help with long-term planning and oversight
• Trustees who turn up, contribute, and make things happen
• Individuals with experience in governance, finance, or leadership
• Friendly challengers who can help keep us on track

The board includes up to 10 elected trustee roles, including Chair and Treasurer. If we receive more than 10 nominations, a vote will take place, open to all members of the District Scout Council. The outcome will be announced at our AGM on Friday13th June, 7pm at Primrose Hill.

Trustees will be required to complete a short online learning module, and you cannot be a trustee if you are disqualified from being a charity trustee by the Charities Act.
